LOCATION
Nea Anchialos is located south of Volos and north of Almyros, at the old National Road Athens - Lamia - Volos. To the east is washed by the Pagasitic Gulf, northwest and west is surrounded by picturesque hills. The total area of Nea Anchialos is 48 sq. km. And the population is 7500.
Thanks to its beauty, to the majestic scenery and to the charm of nature that coexist with peace and cosmopolitan life, but mainly thanks to the clean environment and the hospitality of local people, Nea Anchialos is to be considered as one of the best tourist resorts in the region. Nea Anchialos has controlled vegetation and is surrounded by pine trees, vineyards, olive, almond and fruit trees.
Two small hills, Kokkinovrachos and Mavrorachi, rising to the west - northwest, givimg the city its amphitheater's location overlooking the azure waters of Pagasitikos Gulf and reveal the optimum layout. In Kokkinovrachos, is the church of Prophet Elias and a few meters above a small cave with stalactites and stalagmites, whose entrance is almost closed.
The lacy coast of Nea Anchialos spanning in a radius of 20 km. A wide variety of coastal creeks and small bays which are skillfully designed by Pagasitikos Gulf . Red sand beaches (ideal for Sandbaths), golden sands, rocky cliffs or broad, ideal for swimming, fishing and water sports.
